Hi students and parents! Mr. Loucks here, your math and/or engineering teacher.  I am looking forward to meeting you!
Northern Arizona University is my alma mater where I studied some Engineering, taught math, and did research in cryptography and algebraic coding theory.  I am also a husband and father – my son is 3 years old at the time of writing this.
Below is a list of supplies needed for Math (Pre-Calc and AP Calc), and a separate list for Engineering.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns wloucks@northlandprep.org.

MATH (Pre-Calc and AP Calc) Required Supplies:

  • Pencils and loose-leaf notebook paper (if taken from a spiral, frayed edges must be removed).
  • Folders or a binder to organize papers.
  • Graphing Calculator, model TI-83, TI-84, or TI-89 (including any of these with “Plus” or “Silver Edition.”) If you have another calculator you prefer, please contact me by email or see me in person before the end of the first week of instruction; other calculators may be approved case-by-case.
  • Access to a computer with internet (there may be an option to borrow a Chromebook computer from the school).

ENGINEERING Required Supplies:

  • Pencils or pens and loose-leaf notebook paper (if taken from a spiral, frayed edges must be removed).
  • Folders or a binder to organize papers.
  • Access to a computer with internet (there may be an option to borrow a Chromebook computer from the school).
