moreDigital Photography I --HS

Description:

Supply List for Fall 2019:



  • Pringles can for Camera Obscura

  • Digital Camera, memory card(s), batteries and Instruction Book. A camera with manually adjustable aperture, shutter speed and focus is preferred. Cameras should have Aperture Priority mode and Manual mode.  SLR cameras are preferred over viewfinder cameras.

  • 16 gig flashdrive dedicated for the class. It is not to leave the classroom.


About the class:


Students learn photographic principles and techniques that are common to both digital and traditional photography, as well as techniques that apply only to digital photography. Students will become proficient in the use of basic digital camera and photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. The course explores technical features that are common on digital cameras, and artistic considerations, such as photo composition.Students investigate exposure control and studio lighting as they investigate the elements and principles of design in a variety of photography approaches such as sports photography and portraiture.

Photo editing techniques including special effect filtering, collaged digital, collated scanned images and a variety of other beginning to intermediate photo editing techniques are explored. Students will use an image editor to altering images for both image improvement and artistic considerations.

NOTE: Enrollment is limited. Students should consult with instructor before requesting registration.

Photo follows an assignment sequence that follows the general schedule listed below:

EXTENDED PERIOD WEEK:

— TUESDAY: Computer Day & Photo Assignment Due

— THURSDAY: New Photo Assignment Assigned and Samples shown


NON-EXTENDED PERIOD/ ADVISORY WEEK:

— MONDAY: SHARE/CRITIQUE most recent Photo Project Submissions

— WEDNESDAY: Computer Day and Daily Photos uploaded for the two week period

    —– 1 box of toothpicks

    —– 1 box of tissue

    —– copper and brass wire

    IF POSSIBLE:

    —– copper and brass sheet metal

    —– aluminum flashing
