Koundakjian, Thomas (Algebra I, Algebra II)

Hello and thanks for checking out my webpage. The 2018-2019 academic year is my first year at NPA and I am teaching Algebra I and Algebra II.

I was born and raised in Boston, not far from Cambridge, the home of Harvard and MIT. I went to college at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and after working as a CPA in New York City I moved to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago, where I got an MBA, and then moved to London to attend the London School of Economics.

From London I moved to San Francisco and for 15 years worked for a financial technology company in Berkeley, London and New York. I got to travel all over the world and spent time in every major European city.

Eventually I left my job and spent several years training for Ironman triathlons and ultra-marathons.

In 2012 I went back to graduate school at the University of Nevada, Reno where I got a Masters in Math with a concentration in Statistics.

When I’m not studying or teaching math I like to trail run and cycle, either indoors or on the road. I am a voracious reader and will have a lending library in my classroom. So if you are looking for a new book to read or want to talk about math, come by and pay me a visit.
